Badminton-Siegerin Paulank Brockagh Begrüßt Stutfohlen, Im Stall, In Dem Sie Geboren Wurde

Badminton-Siegerin Paulank Brockagh hat ihr erstes Fohlen im gleichen Stall zur Welt gebracht, in dem sie geboren wurde.

Paul erzählte H&H, dass alle Verbindungen der Stute „so aufgeregt“über den Neuankömmling sind und „Brocks the wondermum“ihre neue Rolle liebt.

Sie fügte hinzu: "Alles war großartig", als das Fohlen ankam, und Brocks wieherte, um das Stutfohlen willkommen zu heißen. Dann, in einem Moment der plötzlichen Überraschung, dämmerte Brocks, als sie beide aufstanden, dass sie Mutter geworden war.

„Es war fast so, als ob sie dachte ‚Was ist das und was soll ich hier tun?!‘“, sagte Paula. „Aber sie ist fantastisch, absolut großartig [mit ihr] und alles war natürlich und alles lief nach Plan.

„Brocks wurde hier geboren und aufgewachsen und jetzt ist ihr Baby auch – im selben Stall, in dem ihre Mutter geboren wurde.“

Brocks (Touchdown x Triggerero) ist eine von nur fünf Stuten, die in ihrer über 70-jährigen Geschichte Badminton gewonnen haben.

Sie bereitete sich auf ihren siebten Start im Jahr 2020 vor, mit dem Plan, sie am letzten Tag in den Ruhestand zu setzen, aber als Covid Badminton zur Absage zwang, entschieden ihre Besitzer und Sam, dass es im besten Interesse der Stute war, ihre Karriere zu beenden.

Paula sagte, dass Brocks Besitzer, die Posfords, und Sam während der Zeit der Stute mit ihnen in Kontakt geblieben waren.

Als Paula die Stute 2010 verkaufte, stellte sie zwei Bitten: Erstens, dass sie ihr Präfix behalten sollten, das eine Verschmelzung der Namen von Paula und Frank ist, und zweitens, dass sie in Betracht ziehen würden, ihnen zu erlauben, eines ihrer Fohlen in der Zukunft.

"Vieles davon träumte als A, sie war vor 11 Jahren keine Badminton-Gewinnerin und B, niemand weiß, was die Zukunft bringt", sagte sie.

Dinah Posford rief Paula zum Ruhestand von Brocks an und fragte, ob sie möchte, dass die Stute in Rente geht, um bei ihnen zu Hause in Co. Wicklow zu leben.

„Ich musste nicht zweimal gefragt werden!“sagte Paula und fügte hinzu, dass sich der Kreis für Brocks geschlossen hat und das „glückliche bis ans Ende“, das sich die Posfords für sie gewünscht haben.

“he isn’t over big and he has quite small, neat features,” said paula, adding that was an important factor considering this was brocks’ first foal.

frank said they also wanted a thoroughbred stallion with a proven performance record.

“he fitted the bill for us on that and he is a nice-looking horse,” he said. “we had a foal by the same stallion out of a different mare and people described her as ‘pretty as a chocolate box picture’, so we know he produces nice foals.”

brocks’ stellar eventing career started in ireland under joseph murphy, daryll walker and heidi hamilton, before she joined sam.

the combination made their mark on the eventing world with eighth place in the seven-year-old world championships at le lion 2010. as well as their phenomenal badminton record, the pair’s top results included leading the australians to team bronze at the 2016 rio olympics, where they finished fourth individually, and competing at the 2014 world equestrian games. the mare was also seventh at luhmühlen 2019, eighth at pau 2017, ninth at burghley in 2015 and 13th there in 2013.
