„Ich Fühle Mich Im Moment Weder Männlich Noch Weiblich – Ich Fühle Mich Nicht Menschlich“: Rachael Blackmore Gewinnt Als Erste Frau Den Grand National Grand

Heute (10. April) hat Jockey Rachael Blackmore Geschichte geschrieben, als sie als erste weibliche Jockey überhaupt das Grand National gewann.

Eine völlig verblüffte Rachael überholte zuerst den Pfosten an Bord der von Henry De Bromhead trainierten Minella Times, die mit einem Preis von 11/1 und vierter Favoritin in die Wette ging.

„Ich kann es einfach nicht glauben“, sagte Rachael direkt nach dem Rennen zu ITV Racing. „Ich hatte einen absolut sensationellen Spin und mein Gott, was Henry De Bromhead mit diesen Pferden macht – ich habe das Glück, sie zu reiten.

„Gewinnen ist unglaublich. Das Pferd war einfach unglaublich “, sagte sie über den Achtjährigen im Besitz von JP McManus. „Er ist wunderschön gesprungen. Ich habe versucht, so lange wie möglich zu warten, bevor ich ihn angreifen und sogar die Melling Road überqueren konnte, ich hatte nicht das Gefühl, dass ein Pferd mit mir weglief, aber als ich das letzte Mal sprang, war er da und geantwortet.

„Ich fühle mich nicht männlich oder weiblich – ich fühle mich nicht menschlich.“

“it’s just brilliant and a lot of thanks to rachael,” said trainer henry de bromhead, who also trained balko des flos, a 100/1 shot ridden by aidan coleman, to finish second. “she gave him a super ride - she hardly left the rail. it’s brilliant to get a win for the mcmanus’. aidan was brilliant on ‘balko’.

“it feels amazing and is the stuff you dream of. i have been watching since i was a kid - i’m so lucky and we’re so lucky to have rachael.”

former jockey ruby walsh said: “what an ambassador for racing rachael is - she is an incredible person and it’s fantastic that this is a sport men and women can compete in on equal terms.”

any second now, another horse owned by jp mcmanus, who has now owned four grand national winners, finished third for trainer ted walsh and jockey mark walsh, despite being badly hampered earlier in the race.

unfortunately there was one equine casualty in the race and the long mile had to be put down after being pulled up.
